Pointing out that the readiness factor of the country's thermal power plants has exceeded 98%, the deputy director of the production of the specialized thermal power company said: since the beginning of the year, an average of one million megawatt hours of energy has been produced in the thermal power plants.
According to the economic correspondent of Tasnim news agency, Nasser Eskandari, the deputy director of the production of the specialized thermal power company, pointed out that more than 81% of the country's power plant capacity is at the disposal of the thermal power generation units, and added: Thermal power plants have been able to play an important role in providing stable and reliable electricity to customers throughout the country by producing more than 122 million megawatt hours of energy in the first four months of this year.

He continued: 54% of this production is related to combined cycle units, whose energy production has reached 66 million megawatt hours with a five percent increase compared to the same period last year.

The deputy director of production of the thermal power company added: Also, the share of gas units in electricity production in the first four months of this year was 25 million megawatt hours, and the share of heating units was 28 million megawatt hours.

Eskandari reminded: last year, with the addition of eight new steam units in West Karun, Asaluyeh, Ferdowsi, Khorramabad, Sablan, South Pars Mission (two units) and Urmia power plants, we are witnessing a jump in the production of combined cycle power plants this year as environmentally friendly electricity producing units.

He emphasized: Converting gas power plants to a combined cycle is one of the most efficient ways to improve the efficiency of thermal power plants in the country, which is very effective not only for the electricity industry, but also for the environment and saving fuel consumption, and in the coming years we will see its wide-ranging effects.
